Frequently Asked Questions – Glacier

The nearest airport is in Kalispell which is approximately 45 miles west of the Resort.

Due to the short season in Glacier National Park, reservations must be cancelled thirty days (30 days) prior to your arrival date, in order to avoid forfeiting 100% of your deposit. If reservations are cancelled less than 30 days before the arrival date, your credit card will be charged the full room charge plus taxes.  If you cancel any reservation, you must obtain and save the cancellation number for your records. We highly recommend getting trip insurance from a reputable 3rd party agency as Clear Sky Resorts is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes.

Our Domes are heated and have air-conditioning as well. The average temperature in the summer here is 74 degrees and drops when the sun goes down so layers are recommended.   The domes are also very energy efficient because of the round shape.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at Clear Sky Resorts (only Service Animals). If you are traveling with your furry family member, we recommend staying at Stanton Creek Cabins, which is our sister property next door.

We are located directly off US-2 East which is the only road between West and East Glacier. Like most hotels on the West Glacier side of the National Park there are railroad tracks nearby.   Amtrack goes by twice a day and other trains come by usually once every half hour during the day and about every hour during the night.  Usually horns are not blown as they go by our location but you will hear noise from time to time and for those that are very light sleepers we do offer earplugs and a white-noise machines in each room.

The Tavern at Stanton Lake is located next door at our sister property and has American cuisine. The is a restaurant located in Essex.  Alternatively, West Glacier has several restaurant options as well.

You do not need any specialized vehicle to access the Resort, we have maintained roads and driveways to the Domes

Parking is free for our guests.

We are located in the middle of a National Forest and have satellite internet. We do not guarantee any sort of stable or high-speed connection. Most guests have the best luck using our internet in the Welcome Dome and there is no charge.  Our motto is unpack and unplug while inside your guest dome. When needing the internet walk over to our Welcome Dome lounge.

We provide luxury linens, bedding and towels in all Domes.

Most domes are an average of 75 feet apart and there is also vegetation between them.

We are in the middle of a National Forest and as such have many various types of wildlife in the area ranging from elk, deer, moose, wild goats, and bears. We recommend bringing or renting our bear spray when you hike in the area.  DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS and stay at least 50 yards away from any wildlife. They are unpredictable and may cause harm.
